New Abstracts and Papers in Sleep

Why NAPS?

One of the greatest needs of individuals involved in research and the clinical treatment of sleep and sleep-related disorders is obtaining current information. There is simply not enough time to regularly search the literature. Even when time is taken, searches can be frustrating because of the interdisciplinary nature of the field of sleep. Trying to be comprehensive, current, and time efficient can be an arduous task...but...no longer!

What NAPS?

NAPS is a free weekly Current Alerting Service for the sleep field. Subscribers to NAPS receive, each week, an E-mail Alert of new citations in their specific Areas of Interest. This Week in NAPS has the papers for the current week. NAPS Archives contains all sleep and sleep-related papers for the current year. A search engine is availiable for searching by author, category, or keyword.

How NAPS?

NAPS sends a weekly E-mail Alert of new information in the sleep field. To receive an E-mail Alert, simply sign-up by completing the online registration form which allows you to choose your particular sleep-related Areas of Interest. The Areas of Interest divide the world's sleep literature into subject areas that address the major categories of research and clinical practice. After registering for the Current Alerting Service, each Monday you will receive an E-mail message listing the citations of new papers in the specific areas in which you have indicated an interest. To view the abstracts of these new papers, you may click on the URLs provided in the E-mail or simply point your browser to the NAPS Home Page.

There is also a search engine available so the papers for the current week and current year can be searched by author, title, or keyword. Now available, upon reading an abstract, if you wish to receive a reprint click on the “reprint request” button for that paper, and a completed reprint request can be sent via E-mail or printed on your printer. The reprint request will be ready for mailing with all necessary information automatically inserted including your name and address, the author's name and address and the complete citation of the requested reprint.

What Else NAPS?

When you sign-up for the NAPS Current Alerting Service, you will also receive an additional feature that includes with your E-mail Alerts, all new events, publications, and World Wide Web information relevant to your Areas of Interest. Information in your Areas of Interest, not only within the sleep field, but also in areas that do not exclusively deal with sleep will also be included. Our staff will search the Web for this information, so you don’t have to spend valuable time trying to stay abreast of the continuing deluge of new information.
