Follow-Up:

First I just want to say I've been taking Ambien for occasional insomnia (this is sometimes as long as two weeks at a stretch) for five years, and have never had a bad experience except when I combined it with alcohol (which, by the way, the label says NOT to do), OR when I accidentally took it when I woke up this morning and was groping around in the semi-dark for my synthroid. (It is the same shape and size!) This afternoon when my son came home from school he proceeded to tell me how amusing I was this morning, telling jokes and nearly causing him to miss his bus. I have absolutely no memory of this. I should add that I normally take 5mg for sleep, which is half of the tablet I took this morning. Those posting here who have mentioned dosage have given numbers like 15 or 20 mg.
