Follow-Up:
What a relief to see I am not alone. I have had several amnesiac experiences. One was on another type of sleeping people, in which I took a sleeping pill at night, woke in the hotel room in D.C., was packing a suitcase in the morning, and then it was 8 hours later, and I was home. On Ambien, I once apparently took laundry out of the dryer and flung it around the living room, making me think that someone had broken into my house when I woke the next morning. On yet another occasion, I was away from home in a hotel on business, called my husband at midnight (not something I would do!) and chatted in a loopy voice for 15 minutes, then called a friend and talked into her answering machine, asking in a very wipsy little girl's scared voice if she had seen my husband. She played the recording to me the next day, and I was astounded. Only other significant factor for me: I have seizures (epilepsy)--just simple and complex partial seizures, which also include blackouts, lack of memory.
