Follow-Up:
i am sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. i was just diagnosed with sleep apnea about a week ago. my internist had me go through a sleep study and found out that i wake up every 30 seconds not breathing. so he put me on a breathing maching called a cpap. it works great. i find i sleep very well all night now and wake up feeling lots better than i did without the machine. my medicaid covered my machine and the test here at my home state. as for how bad this sleeping disorder can be, i had a good friend of mine die from this problem. she fell asleep on the sofa without her machine and she stopped breathing and never woke up. the test for this is easy to go through. your dr should send you to a sleep lab that is usually conducted in your local hospital. they will, once there, attach wires to your scalp, legs, chest and face. doesnt hurt at all. and then you climb into bed and go to sleep. they watch you through a camera and use a sound system to listen to how bad your snoring is. if you have bad trouble they will come in and wake you up. in my case, i was asleep by 9:30 and they woke me at 11:30 to put me on the breathing machine. i found the nose mask, and straps do not keep me from sleeping at night either. matter of fact the person who brought my machine made sure the straps that hold the mask on were not so tight as to be uncomfortable. i sleep great now , with little to no snoring at all. i wish you luck and i hope things go well for you.
