Follow-Up:
I have experienced many of the eating problems and an occasional memory lapse. I'm 53 years old. My job requires a lot of critical thinking skills. I was terribly depressed before when I wasn't sleeping and my thoughts were so scattered. I have taken Ambien for about five years. I have never exceeded 5mg and depending on how critical it is for me to get 8 hours of sleep I will split the pill slightly larger or smaller. I would never take this medication if I were going to be alone or if I had ever had any of the really bizarre reactions some of you have had. Use you brains, if you are having hallucinations that's a good indication that it isn't for you. If you continue to not take some responsibility for your actions, you may deprive some of us who have had great relief from insomnia by using Ambien. Try Benadryl if you can't tolerate Ambien. I have awful nightmares from Benadryl and am drowsy the next morning with as little as 12.5 mg. I can wake up without feeling drowsy on Ambien, but it is very important to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Sometimes, for me, that means in bed by 8 pm. You have to be a little wise about this drug. I caution all this trashing you are doing here.
