Follow-Up:
I had been prescribed Ambien 30 mg for insomnia about 2 years ago, and from reading the preceding testimonials, I am amazed at how similar my experiences have been. I stopped taking it about nine months ago, and even now I swear that my ability to remember facts, numbers, names, etc. is significantly diminished. I really thought that I had to be imagining this until I began reading how common it is among other people who have posted messages here. I also had the immediate side effects of the nonsensical phone calls/conversations/emails, the late-night binge eating, and most of the other bizarre behavior, and all with no recollection the following day! There has to have been some FDA knowledge of this before this drug was approved, I would think. I honestly agree that it's a really dangerous drug. Thankfully, I never drove or performed anything else dangerous while on it, but I certainly could have, and I understand how others did it. I too switched to Trazodone, but I can see now looking back that I quickly had become addicted to Ambien. I found that once I got OFF Ambien, which I had begun taking nearly every night, I sleep much better overall with no sleep medication at all. I take the Trazodone literally about one night per month. Ambien is all-bad.
