Follow-Up:

I have had BMS for over 4 1/2 years. Mine started the very next day after I had a crown done. The burning was terrible and I went to 11 diferent doctors and dentists until I was diagnosed with BMS. I have tried klonopin several times and it did help, but I didn't like the side effects. I have had the best results with a tobasco rinse. I had a physical done several months ago and I am through menopause. Slowly but surely my mouth has gotten better. The burning is very slight and at times is not there. I have come a long way and I want all you BMS sufferes not to give up. I read many things and talked with many different people and doctors. I found a wonderful oral pathologist in Indiana and one in Alabama. I really feel we can beat this thing. It is a terrible affliction and I do hope research is being done on it. Hang in there and it is so important to find a great support network. My family doctor had never heard of BMS, but she now has another patient with the same symptoms. She has put that patient on klonopin with success. Keep healing.
