Mari, while I think that the Go4Hope Message Board is worthwhile and the site certainly helpful, I sometimes have trouble "getting on". Also, it is more difficult culling through replies with that format. I just saw your reply to me there. Thanks. Yes, it does seem that we have had common experiences. A word of advice. Be wary of operations for relief. I had two, both related to the trigeminal nerve. Both surgeons were basically optimistic, but didn’t promise a cure. Of course, I didn’t feel any better afterwards - just left with numbness (where I didn’t hurt) and a couple of scars. My crown procedure was done when I was just in my thirties and many moons have passed since. I also get some pains in my jaw, ears, neck and occipital region of head when pain gets really bad. Still hoping that something (maybe the lipoic acid) will help. I have not tried it, yet. What I am wondering is if 200 mg. of the R-form is more potent than the combination alpha lipoic acid, which seems to be more easily obtained. Also, I have not seen the R form in tablets or capsules that are 200 mg.
