Follow-Up:

I have scanned thruogh the BMS messages and wanted to add my experiences..I have had BMS for a year and mine has gotten much better. The first 3-4 months were miserable. Along with mouth pain I also lost my sense of taste, had dry mouth and metallic taste. I have had all sorts of tests for vitamins, heavy metals, diabetes, leukemia, all with nothing conclusive. I have done B-12 shots, with no change. My chiropractor found an article on ALA on a medical site and it suggested 600 mg per day. I did that for months and found some improvement. Make sure you get good quality ALA. I had a MRI and nerve testing which showed nothing unusual. I have read and researched and the one thing that keeps showing up is that BMS is most common in women my age (54). Now why have Drs. not looked into a hormonal cause? I know someone who got BMS right after she stopped taking HRT and mine showed up after I cut my estrogen dose in half. My next step is to get a saliva hormone level test done to see where my levels are and what might to done to bring them into balance. That is why Chaste Berries work for some people. It brings hormones into balance. My other suggestion for some relief is to avoid: Anything with vinegar in it (salad dressing, condiments), all tomato products, alcohol (particularly red wine) concentrated sugars (chocolate, dried fruits). Try making a strong tea of slippery elm bark and sip on it throughout the day, it will relieve some of the burn. Good luck to all of you!
