Follow-Up:
I may be able to offer some insight. I suffer from little painful bumps on the edges and tip of my tongue from time to time. I am currently having a terrible outbreak for almost 2 weeks now. As I'm sure many of you have discovered it is both difficult and painful to eat and sometimes even talk. However, what I have discovered is that this is an odd sort of allergy. Everyone has candida (yeast causing bacteria) in their system. When our system is stressed it does not do a very good job of keeping the candida under control. One of the ways it comes out in our systems is in these painful tongue sores. Not much can be done other than drink water, eat yogurt or take asicolophis pills. I don't think I spelled that correctly, but you can get it at any health food store. If fights candida as does garlic or garlic pills. And very importantly, avoid sugar because sugar feeds the candida and helps it to grow. I learned all of this from a friend that is a chiropractor and very knowledgable about things like this. She told me that it can also be a reaction to anything you eat that has mold (ie. melons, grapes, blue cheese) and also antibiotics. Many women get yeast infections from taking antibiotics, but these tongue sores can also be a result of antibiotics. Other than just flushing the system out, you have to suffer through it as far as I know. Oh, and apples are good to eat as well. They meat of the apple absorbs toxins in the body like those which cause candida and the fiber will help clean out the system. Good luck all!
