Follow-Up:
I have had BMS for 7 months. I am 45 years old and have just found out that I am menopausal. I first went to my medical doctor who ruled out anemia, thyroid, diabetes, and vitamin deficiency as the cause of my pain. My next stop was my dentist. I tried antibiotics and a rinse and swallow mixture. I tried my chiropractor, and most recently an oral surgeon who had me try anti-yeast (Mycelex)tablets which I dissolved in my mouth 5 times a day. Now he is having me try breaking open vitamin E gels and rub it on my tongue. I've only been doing it for two days, but I don't feel any relief so far. Some days the pain is not that noticeable, and others I just wish I could go to sleep so I didn't have to feel the pain. It makes me sad to think that no one knows what causes this and that it may or may not ever go away. I'm glad however, to have found out that this is a specific condition that has a name because none of the doctors have ever given it a name. I just typed burning tongue to seach the internet and found the exact description of what I have been experiencing. I am so sorry for all of you who have to experience this too, but know that you are not alone.
