Follow-Up:
i have had these since i was a child; i am now 47. they come more frequently the older i get, which means the closer to menopause i get. whenever i get to mid-month and all thru my period. there are multiple sores as big as peas that burst open and leave holes as evidence of their icky appearance. i have used a prescription of penicillin which took the abject pain and itch away for only two days. i used a prescribed swish and swallow medicine, but that did NOTHING. i have prayed fervently that GOD would take this from me, but HE isn't listening - yet. i agree that it begins with one sore and then spreads to four then six then up to ten on the tip and up the side of my tongue. the pain wakes me in the night. two doctors have never seen anything like this and have baffled their ipods trying to help me! it really sucks, and i hope that it can be either cured or treated to remove the pain and itch. i will try b-12, tea tree oil and goldenseal root tomorrow. alcohol and peroxide did nothing but aggravate the condition. snipping with cuticle scissors is too risky and just downright stupid.
