Follow-Up:
Hi, I have been battling chapped lips with slight redness around my entire lip line, like clown lips and I sometimes get cracking in the corners as well. Dr. said it was cheilitis and very common and prescribed Econazole Nitrate cream but after 10 days they were worse than before I saw her. So I tried the Naturopath and spent about a yr (on/off) doing weekly B shots and taking extra Folic acid and buffered Vit.C powder. I would get better at times but never cured for good. So I live with it, I have to use make up on the outline and lipbalm for the chapping. "E Gem" with 1000 IU Vitamin E lip balm is best for me, -- Vaseline worked but I hated using it all the time. I have now discovered a link between certain foods and flare ups. Mexican spices cause them huge problems in a day or so, but if the spice is hot it can happen immediately. It was also suggested that salt can cause it and I cant live without salt and I eat the real healthy salt too. I know tomatoes make them worse so I have to be careful not to eat them too often. Does anyone know if eggs can cause this? I really think it might be food allergies which is hard to detect because it can take days before your body reacts. I've had this for a couple yrs now and still at square one. Veronica
