Dear Colleagues,
We hereby invite you to the Nineteenth Annual Meeting of The Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms (SLTBR) to be held June 28-30 at the Admiral Hotel in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark. The program promises to be highly stimulating with two featured symposia as described below. This time of year is ideal for an extended visit to this region – there are many attractions for individual travelers and families alike!
This year’s program committee, Klaus Martiny, Diane Boivin and Josephine Arendt, is proposing an exciting scientific agenda consisting of one poster session, two oral presentation sessions (open contributions) and two plenary sessions. In the first plenary session, distinguished invited speakers will discuss Melatonin, Light and Cancer. In the second plenary session, the focus will be on light therapy for non-seasonal depression. Klaus Martiny and Gabriele Bech-Anderson, the local meeting coordinators, are planning an exciting program of social events for the meeting.
SLTBR is a not-for-profit international organization founded in 1988, dedicated to fostering research, professional development and clinical applications in the fields of light therapy and biological rhythms. Members of the SLTBR have research and clinical interests in the healthy use of environmental lighting and in conditions related to light and biological rhythms including seasonal affective disorder (SAD), jet lag, shift work, sleep disorders, eating disorders, nonseasonal depression, bipolar disorder, and premenstrual syndrome. They study and use treatments including light therapy, chronotherapy, melatonin, serotonergic medications, and others. The corporate members of the SLTBR develop and market devices for the scientific measurement and the therapeutic use of light.
